(1)وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَـٰتِ عُرۡفً۬ا  

By the emissary winds, sent one after another  

(2) فَٱلۡعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصۡفً۬ا  

By the raging hurricanes,  

(3) وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٲتِ نَشۡرً۬ا  

By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive;  

(4) فَٱلۡفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرۡقً۬ا  

By those who winnow with a winnowing,  

(5) فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَـٰتِ ذِكۡرًا  

By those who bring down the Reminder,  

(6) عُذۡرًا أَوۡ نُذۡرًا  

To excuse or to warn,  

(7) إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٲقِعٌ۬  

Surely that which ye are promised will befall.  

(8) فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتۡ  

So when the stars are put out,  

(9) وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡ  

And when the sky is riven asunder,  

(10) وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ  

And when the mountains are blown away,  

(11) وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ  

And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed -  

(12) لِأَىِّ يَوۡمٍ أُجِّلَتۡ  

For what day is the time appointed?  

(13) لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ  

For the Day of Decision.  

(14) وَمَآ أَدۡرَٮٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ  

And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! -  

(15) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(16) أَلَمۡ نُہۡلِكِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ  

Destroyed We not the former folk,  

(17) ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ  

Then caused the latter folk to follow after?  

(18) كَذَٲلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ  

Thus deal We ever with the guilty.  

(19) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(20) أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ۬ مَّهِينٍ۬  

Did We not create you from a base fluid  

(21) فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ۬ مَّكِينٍ  

Which We laid up in a safe abode  

(22) إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ۬ مَّعۡلُومٍ۬  

For a known term?  

(23) فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَـٰدِرُونَ  

Thus We determined things. How excellent is Our determining!  

(24) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(25) أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا  

Have We not made the earth a receptacle  

(26) أَحۡيَآءً۬ وَأَمۡوَٲتً۬ا  

Both for the living and the dead,  

(27) وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيہَا رَوَٲسِىَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍ۬ وَأَسۡقَيۡنَـٰكُم مَّآءً۬ فُرَاتً۬ا  

And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein?  

(28) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(29) ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ  

It will be said unto them: Depart unto that doom which ye used to deny;  

(30) ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ۬ ذِى ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبٍ۬  

Depart unto the shadow falling threefold,  

(31) لَّا ظَلِيلٍ۬ وَلَا يُغۡنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ  

Which yet is no relief nor shelter from the flame.  

(32) إِنَّہَا تَرۡمِى بِشَرَرٍ۬ كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ  

Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles,  

(33) كَأَنَّهُ ۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌ۬ صُفۡرٌ۬  

Or as it might be camels of bright yellow hue.  

(34) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(35) هَـٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ  

This is a day wherein they speak not,  

(36) وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ  

Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses.  

(37) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(38) هَـٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ‌ۖ جَمَعۡنَـٰكُمۡ وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ  

This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together.  

(39) فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡدٌ۬ فَكِيدُونِ  

If now ye have any wit, outwit Me.  

(40) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(41) إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ۬ وَعُيُونٍ۬  

Lo! those who kept their duty are amid shade and fountains,  

(42) وَفَوَٲكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَہُونَ  

And fruits such as they desire.  

(43) كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ  

Unto them it is said: Eat, drink and welcome, O ye blessed, in return for what ye did.  

(44) إِنَّا كَذَٲلِكَ نَجۡزِى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ  

Thus do We reward the good.  

(45) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(46) كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلاً إِنَّكُم مُّجۡرِمُونَ  

Eat and take your ease on earth a little. Lo! ye are guilty.  

(47) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(48) وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرۡكَعُواْ لَا يَرۡكَعُونَ  

When it is said unto them: Bow down, they bow not down!  

(49) وَيۡلٌ۬ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ  

Woe unto the repudiators on that day!  

(50) فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَهُ ۥ يُؤۡمِنُونَ  

In what statement, after this, will they believe?
